Description: Learn how to effectively use the TI-83+/TI-84+ graphing calculator and use the internet in the statistics classroom. This course will explore topics such as generating random numbers, Poisson and geometric distributions; normal and t-distributions; one-sample confidence intervals and hypothesis testing: z-test, t-test and proportions; linear and median regression analysis and two-variable summary statistic. Research the National Technology Standards and explore the relevance of technology in teaching and learning of mathematics and statistics. The topics and methods are aligned with the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics (NCTM 2000). Engage in interesting real-world activities that motivate students and can immediately be used in the classroom.
