Description: Learn new and innovative ways to effectively teach algebra using the TI-83+/TI-84+ graphing calculator. Engage in real-life activities that can immediately be used in the Algebra I and Algebra II classroom and align with the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics (NCTM 2000). Review the research of instructional implications for the use of technology in the classroom. The content will explore topics in the secondary mathematics curriculum including functions and relations, transformations of linear and quadratic equations and inequalities, logarithmic and exponential functions, factoring polynomials, min/max problems, data analysis, regression and correlation, stat plots, curve fitting and residual plots, matrices and systems of equations, trigonometry, finance, polar graphs, fractals and simple programming.
