Description: This course is designed to teach TI-83+/84+ calculator skills for the college algebra classroom that align with the Principles and Standards for School Mathematics (NCTM 2000). Research the National Technology Standards and explore the instructional implications for the use of technology in the classroom. Explore new and innovative  ways of teaching by engaging in real-world activities that can immediately be used in the classroom. Topics covered in the course include real and complex numbers, relations, functions, inverse functions; linear and quadratic equations and their graphs; higher degree polynomials and their graphs; rational, absolute value and piece-wise functions and their graphs; linear and non-linear inequalities, composite functions, exponential and logarithmic functions, systems of equations and matrices; conic sections; sequences and series; finance, modeling, problem solving and other topics.
