Description:
This course is designed to provide Science and Math Teachers with real world
activities that can be used to increase student understanding of Science and
Math concepts. Participants will explore a variety of inquiry-based hands-on
Life Science, Physical Science, Health Science and Earth Science activities
designed to motivate a diverse student population. These activities will help
teachers motivate all students with variable interests, experiences, and
abilities, by implementing real world activities in their environment and to
achieve higher Science and Math competency. Using the National Science
Standards and the NCTM 2000 Principles and Standards for Mathematics as a
framework for instruction, teachers will acquire the skills to implement the
Inquiry Approach to teaching Math and Science.
